Temporary passport

In the event of a lost passport. You may still travel urgently if they have complete supporting documents for a new passport. The embassy can issue a temporary passport valid for 1 year. To file a claim for a temporary passport. You should follow the procedure for making an appointment. This involves sending an email to thaiconsulate.mx@gmail.com to arrange a date and time to submit the matter at the embassy. Likewise the passport fee must be paid at any branch of Scotia Bank. Additionally the bank receipt must be submitted together with the necessary documents.

Likewise it is important to note that bank receipts are only valid for the month in which the appointment is made, and incomplete or incorrect documents will not be refunded.Additionally on the appointed date, you must go to the embassy in person to apply for the temporary passport. This as biometric information such as fingerprinting and taking pictures of the face will be recorded. The required documents include the Thai ID card, the current passport, a notice issued by the local police station, and the fee payment receipt.

The fee for the temporary passport is 10.00 USD.

Obtaining an electronic passport

There are three ways in which the petitioner can receive an e-passport book. Firstly, the petitioner may choose to pick up the passport in person at the embassy, and present the booklet and receipt to the staff. This along with a copy of the recipient’s document with name-surname issued by a Thai or Mexican government agency. Finally, if the petitioner wishes to have the embassy send the passport back to the post office. They must contact thaiconsulate.mx@gmail.com. Additionally clearly informing the recipient’s name-surname, address, postal code, and mobile phone number, while also bearing in mind that the embassy will not be responsible for any lost documents.

Passport Validity

Likewise it is important to note that the fee for a passport valid for 5 years is 40.00 USD. Additionally the fee for a passport valid for 10 years is 55.00 USD. However, in the event that the applicant submits an application for having a passport for the first time abroad. Additionally they have a name in the civil registration database but not in the house registration, a passport valid for 5 years only will be issued.

Furthermore, when the petitioner reaches sui juris (age 20 years old). This has completed the civil registration process, they may submit an application for a 10-year general passport. Both types of general passport applications can be submitted.

Thai ID card

Thai nationals who live and work abroad and have previously had an identity card can apply for a new ID card at the embassy in the following cases. The procedure for making an appointment to file a claim involves the following steps.

Firstly to begin, the petitioner should send an email to thaiconsulate.mx@gmail.com to arrange a date and time for submitting the matter at the embassy. Secondly after that, the petitioner must pay the passport fee at any Bancomer bank branch. Thirdly the account name is Embajada Real de Tailandia, account number 0193993469. Fourthly only Mexican Pesos cash is accepted, and it’s not possible to transfer money via bank. Lastly, the petitioner should submit the bank receipt along with the documents listed in item 3. It’s important to note that bank receipts are only valid for the month in which the applicant made an appointment. Note (email them and double check before you do this).

If the petitioner is not sure about being able to travel on the appointed date and time, it’s recommended not to transfer money in advance for a long time. However, the date of transfer of money according to the receipt must be within the same month that the petitioner traveled to make a passport. If the petitioner brings incomplete or incorrect documents, the embassy cannot refund in any case.

Expired Thai ID cards

On the appointment date. The embassy will issue an ID card to the petitioner. It’s important to come and submit the petition in person, bringing the important documents as follows.

In the case of an expired ID card (not more than 1 year). Then the original ID card with 1 copy, and the latest Thai passport and 1 photocopy are required. No fee is charged for this service.

In the case of an expired ID card (more than 1 year). Then the original ID card with 1 copy, the latest Thai passport and 1 photocopy, and 1 copy of house registration are required. No fee is charged for this service.

In the case of a lost ID card, the required documents include a copy of the identity card (if any), the latest Thai passport and 1 photocopy, 1 copy of house registration, and documents issued by the government that include a photo, such as a Thai driving license. The fee for this service is 80 Mexican Pesos.

In the case of a damaged ID card, the original ID card with 1 copy and the latest Thai passport and 1 photocopy are required. The fee for this service is 80 Mexican Pesos.

Changing ID details

In the case of requesting to change the ID card due to the change of name or surname (after changing the name-surname with the district or district in Thailand only), the required documents include the original ID card with 1 copy, the latest Thai passport and 1 photocopy, evidence of name or surname change, and a document showing valid residence in Mexico. The fee for this service is 80 Mexican Pesos.

In the case of requesting to change the ID card due to the change of address (after changing the address with the district or district in Thailand only). Additionally, the person requesting an ID card must have information in the database of the Ministry of Interior. This and personal information must match the civil registration database. Birth Registration

If you have a son born in Mexico with one or both parents having Thai nationality. Likewise you can apply for birth registration (Thai birth certificate) at the embassy. To initiate the process, the petitioner should send an email to thaiconsulate.mx@gmail.com to make an appointment. On the appointed date, the petitioner must come to the embassy in person and bring the necessary documents, including the passport or ID card of the father and mother, parents’ marriage registration certificate, child’s birth certificate issued by the Mexican authorities and hospital, and two photos of the child. It’s important to note that obtaining a birth certificate is free of charge.

To apply for a Thai tourist visa, certain documents are required. These documents vary depending on the type of visa being applied for, whether it’s a single entry or multiple entries. In addition to the completed and signed visa application form, an original passport with a validity of at least 6 months and containing at least two empty visa pages is necessary. Copies of the passport, including the page with the applicant’s information, are also required.

Two color photographs, front-facing and not older than six months, should be submitted. In addition, proof of accommodation in Thailand is necessary for the entire duration of the intended stay. This may include a reservation confirmation with the name, address, and contact details of the hotel/apartment, or an invitation letter, copy of the host’s passport, visa/residence/work permit in Thailand, and a copy of house register/buying or rental contract.

A current bank statement of the applicant showing the closing balance of at least 20,000 THB/15,000 MXN or in other equivalent currency for a single applicant or at least 40,000 THB/30,000 MXN or in other equivalent currency for family group applicants is also required. Finally, it is important to note that credit cards and screen captures are not accepted.
